Shopsmith mark IV 4

Post by ShopsmithJake »

I have a shop Smith mark 4. I found this bad boy on the side of the road with a free sticker on it. It has all the tools and attachments. I was quite surprised to find this andI'd be grudgingly put it in my van. I loved the idea of piecing this thing together And using it one day but I am running out of space lease and time to be able to do that. If anybody is in the market for a new project, This original tool Functions as a lathe, table saw, drill press and grinder. More than anything I am looking for this thing to find a home. Located in North Carolina near Charlotte. I can't store it anymore and I do not want to take it to the scrapyard. A small adoption fee would be appreciated but not necessary. Please notify me hereIf you are interested and live near North Carolina. I cannot deliver it. If you would like pictures, email Jake.adams028@gmail.com and I can accommodate. I am not here looking for money, just to save a bit of history. It's in fair shape but the belts were old and they broke. Easy stuff for a roughneck.

JPG,

Like you I wondered about this post when I first read it yesterday. A Mark 4 found along the road with a free sign on it. Actual Mark 4's have only been around for about a year. How would it have old belts. Why would anyone give it away after paying $3499 for it such a short time ago. And then there is the inclusion of his email address for contact.

Sorry ShopsmithJake but I see red flags on this one. If we sound sinical it is because we get spammers all too often here.

Russ,

Exactly my thoughts when I read it yesterday. His statement, "This original tool Functions as a lathe, table saw, drill press and grinder", is certainly 4 functions but does not describe any Shopsmith past or present.
