All true. I have one and have used it occasionally. It works as advertised.edma194 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:10 pmThat guide works with thin stock of the kind usually cut with a jigsaw or scroll saw. There's no lower guide block to use with that blade guide, I don't know if anyone has tried it on a Shopsmith bandsaw. It is designed to work only on thin stock.jsburger wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 2:33 pm This is the guide Carter sells for using narrow blades in the SS Band Saw.

Obviously, you have never watched the demo where they cut reindeer out of 2x4. I cut this chicken from a 2x4 using a carter stabilizer and a 1/8-inch blade.edma194 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:10 pmThat guide works with thin stock of the kind usually cut with a jigsaw or scroll saw. Re: Bandsaw table leveling screw too long
I have been looking at some demos now. My concern here was getting vertical cuts through wood for bandsaw boxes up to maximum depth in the Shopsmith, something just shy of 6 inches. Carter didn't recommend the guide for that usage, although in one demo I see it doing a good job up to several inches deep. My concern with the guide is the blade twisting in the cut. For now, the single stack of bearings I set up at their recommendation is doing a decent job with 1/8" blade, though it is only a little better than using cool blocks.
