I was able to file both state and federal returns for free electronically last month. Everything went through the first time. Now, it's a matter of waiting.

The IRS appears to be more on top of things this year than the past couple of years. I filed my taxes on paper and mailed it in last month. The check arrived in the mail yesterday. That is a huge change from 2022 when I filed in March and the check arrived in August. In 2021, I filed the same time in February as this year, and the check showed up in July. That's 4 months later than this year.
