Fine tooth Bandsaw blades?

Post by Chasboy1 »

Hi folks, I’m a new owner of a SS Bandsaw. It came with 2 general purpose blades, I believe about 3/8”. I was curious about what other blades I might need. I don’t plan to do much resawing but I will need metal cutting possibility. Should I get a hacksaw like 24 TPI?
Thanks all!

What kind of metal? I have a bi-metal blade that cuts through aluminum like butter. It won't work well on steel though. There are other bi-metal blades for steel. I use hardened steel blades in my metal cutoff saw that has pretty coarse teeth, I think it is just 10TPI but runs at a very slow speed.

How is your bandsaw powered? Do you have a Shopsmith or is this mounted on it's own stand?
