Can a Mark V fence be modified to fit bandsaw?
I thought I had seen a post somewhere that shows how to modify a Mark V 500 type fence for use on the bandsaw table. Is that possible? If so, does have got any info on that?

Cast iron or aluminum table? I recall something about doing it with the aluminum table fence, not sure though. The Shopsmith fence for the aluminum table looks like it uses the original 510 extrusion. Not sure what is required for modification. I am considering returning to the cast iron table, just not all that impressed with the aluminum version. Using the cross slot with a miter gauge for a rip fence has worked out well for me in the past.

The fence mount extrusion for the band saw fences is the same as the M5/MV500 with a slight modification to avoid interference.
Realize that only allows securing the fence on one end.

Re: Can a Mark V fence be modified to fit bandsaw?
I have seen a modified one made to fit the Aluminum Bandsaw Table that was for sale on ebay some time back. It was shortened to have a lock on both ends. The Bandsaw Fence for the Aluminum Table mounts on the outfeed side with the "rear" lock on the infeed side.

That’s the modification that I knew I had seen somewhere. The shortened Mk 500 fence with the knurled locking knob at the outfeed side on the aluminum bandsaw table. Now, if I can find out more details on this modification, that would be icing on the cake. Thanks to all for your input. I just found this older thread from this website:chapmanruss wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 12:39 pm I have seen a modified one made to fit the Aluminum Bandsaw Table that was for sale on ebay some time back.
