Does anyone else have issues with the mandrel saver which comes with the Nova G3 Pen Turning kit? (P/N 556217)
I have two of them - when I use the original one, the threaded back plate ALWAYS backs out while I'm turning a piece.
This doesn't happen with the newer one, but in both cases, the "head" comes off easily.
I suppose I could clean off all the oil and secure the back plate with Loctite - is that the only way to prevent it backing out?
AND - is the "head" supposed to be simply slid onto the shaft, or is anything supposed to secure it in place?
