I’ve given it a lot of thought and I’m finally able to say that I’m in! Should be a fun event. Scott

I just got registered as well. I'm especially looking forward to putting faces to members of this forum.

Just a few more days until registration closes - if you'd still like to register, please go to:

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shopsmith- ... 4945890327

Here's some additional information supplied to registrants, in case you're on the fence about attending:

Our Shopsmith Owners Group meet-up and factory tour is just around the corner. If you haven't scrolled down the registration page where you bought your ticket (see link above), you missed seeing the schedules for Friday and Saturday. Perhaps go back there and take a peek.

Your registration includes a tour at the factory, a commemorative tee shirt, access to the Friday evening reception hosted by Shopsmith, and our Saturday morning sessions with YouTube channel hosts Thomas Purk, and Scott Markwood!

You won't need to go hunting for a bite to eat on Friday before or after your tour, because we've scheduled Lilia's Outside Cafe (https://www.daytonfoodtruckassociation. ... tside-cafe) to be at Shopsmith from 11:30-1pm. The link here shows the menu for one of Dayton's best mobile food purveyors!

This isn't all the news... there's more coming. We're awaiting word from Shopsmith about a charity auction, special sale prices, and some truly huge give-aways! So stay tuned here for updates!

John, could you provide a link to Thomas Purk's YouTube channel? I couldn't find it with either a YouTube or a Gooigle search.

Thanks John. I’ve watched quite a few of Tom’s videos, but never knew his last name. I’m sorry to learn that he’s mothballing his Woodworking Nerdery channel, but I know it had to be a huge time commitment. And one without a lot of tangible benefits.

Unfortunately I can't make it either Friday or Saturday.
Interesting aside: Gerstner corp. is also in Dayton, and is also having a Gerstner fest on Friday Oct. 6.

Less Than A Week To Go!!

Had a final planning discussion with the organizing team at Shopsmith yesterday, and everything is coming together very nicely. Sounds like there’s a lot of effort going on behind the scenes to roll out the red carpet for attendees, so I’m expecting a great event!

There have been a number of email updates going out to all registrants, so if you’re NOT getting those emails, please let me know.

See you all in Dayton next week…!

I just heard about this event while watching Scott's YouTube channel and it looked like I was too late. However, if someone cancels at the last minute I'd be grateful for a shot at their spot. I'm retired and live just south of Dayton so I'd be able to fill in at the last minute if the opportunity presents itself. I have a Shopsmith built in 1981 and a Bandsaw. They have both been living in a basement and ignored for the last 30+ years. I'm about to start on whatever resurrections will be needed to bring them back to life. I have found a used manual on eBay and the 'Woodworking for everyone' on Amazon and I have acquired a couple of DVDs on maintenance and adjustments. I would hope to gain some further knowledge at this event if things work out in my favor. If not, I'll just start haunting this board and asking my questions as they come up.

With great regrets my wife and I will not be able to attend. We have both contracted COVID, as has our son who was to take care of the dogs while we were away. I am very disappointed. I hope others can attend in our place.
