I got a Plug ordered for the access hole / My idea is a MacMaster plug  .

I will drill the hole once I get the plug I ordered in hand.
I put a rubber grommet in the tension adjusting hole in mine to hold a short hex key in it ready to use.

FWIW, the quill is NOT aluminum.

I think the rust spots need to be removed first.

Yeah

That why I stated that I ordered the wrong Stuff. :D

I should have taken pictures of when I used Scotch Brite on it.
I cleaned it well.

It looked a Lot better after coated with this stuff.

I think it will need a Second coat as things always do. :)

I will order the stuff for Metal also because I liked how this worked,

I will post pictures of first coat for Example.

Here is the Research of is it okay to use Aluminum Blackening kit on steel.

A little more Progress. :)

I cleaned the handles and Dial for the Quill this evening.

I used an Ultra Sonic cleaner with Pine sol in it.

I filed some of the casting off after the cleaning.

This was this first trip in the Ultrasonic.
