3D printed T-Slot Nut

Post by mountainbreeze »

I had a friend print a T-Slot nut for me. It looks a little rough but so far it seems to function well.

I have an adequate supply of genuine Shopsmith T-nuts for my personal needs. But a while back, I needed some T-nuts to fit the slots on the Jessem fence-mounting extrusions that I installed on my Shopsmith overarm pin router table. I modelled them up, printed them in PLA+, and they work like a charm.

Over the years, I’ve found that 3DP nuts tend to be strong enough, but not as rigid as the real deal. Sometimes that matters, but often it does not.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I have plenty of the originals and I designed one for use with the Jessem stock guide track which worked perfectly. Great minds think alike.
