Is anyone aware of the policy for returning a shopsmith? Particularly one where it’s new and has had to have parts replaced or serviced three times already?
I’m sick of this thing and how it works, how much play and slop there is everywhere, etc. first it needed new legs (“bench ends”), then it had to be sent in for having the table re-milled because the miter slots were narrower in parts,
It has a power pro 2 headstock which came with a manual that is not for that headstock. Why? Because I guess they don’t make one for that yet. I’ve asked four time to have one sent to me and still nothing. Why do I want a manual for that specific one?
Did you know the unlock code is some arbitrary number from the factory? I didn’t, and it took me two hours of googling till I found an 80 year old man who was doing an upgrade on YouTube.
If anyone knows their return policy, I’d love to utilize it
If you would like I'll take it off your hands. Just let me know by PM and I'll provide you with a ship to address.
However, Shopsmith is normally pretty good about making this sort of issue right. If it is still in warranty, especially. Contact Customer Service as already suggested.
