BTW it was eliminated when new molds were created since it was felt the slot weakened the table. Another 'reason' was the Mark V(500) change to a 10" blade and the slot was dimensioned for a Mark 5 9" blade. I dare say it was the consideration of making the slot longer to accommodate a 10" blade that led to the "weak" opinion.

Had another Mark V follow me home. I mainly got it for the planner. It has never been used. I need to do the usual maintenance on it and in the spring I will have to repaint the legs and rework the caster assemblies, but that is about it.
