What caught my ear was her pursuing a new SPT from Stockroom Supply. It looks to be a SS version of their Flatmaster sander ?
All it would need is the power takeoff from the headstock, and a few modifications that I'm confident Jim McCann could dream up.
Like using the 520 fence....?
Years ago, they tried marketing the Sand Flee. I looked at one but passed. Poor performance ratings. Also passed on a drum sander...$$$$$.
A flat sander is very handy for segmented turning/glueing. One of these I'd really look at.
Segmented turners abound in the QCA. Check out their website. www.qcwoodturners.org

Yeah, I am all for ANY new SPT that can be added to the Shopsmith system, so the idea of adding Stockroom Supply's drum sander is a nice idea IMHO. My FIL had a Sand Flee and I kinda wish I had kept it, but I sold it in the estate sale with his passing. From what I understand he used it quite a bit in his shop, but I just really didn't have room in my shop to keep it.

Overall, I liked the video and I would encourage them to continue to put these out from time to time. Having some level of transparency and just plain & simple company updates to the Shopsmith community is imperative IMHO. I don't agree with their answer on the jointer. It is a very outdated response. NOT that they have bandwidth, resources, etc. to pursue this now, but it wouldn't be that hard to make a new 8" (or larger) jointer that could mount on the Mark V/7 AND be lighter than the 4" jointer. IF you don't believe me, go look at what is being done for benchtop jointers like from Rikon (link below). Infeed/outfeed tables and fence are all aluminum. Could even rig up a setup to use Shopsmith floating tables for infeed/outfeed extension of a new Shopsmith 8" jointer. Oh well, probably will never happen, but I can dream.

Have to disagree a little with what was said about electronics and components. Yes, A LOT of IC's, supporting components, PCB's, etc. are sourced from overseas today. It really depends on the application but there are areas where complete production is accomplished in the US for some electronics in certain applications. With regard to IC's the most advanced nodes are definitely mostly overseas, but when it comes to power electronics it requires a special semiconductor process that is often on a much older (larger geometry) semiconductor wafer process...these are often found inside the US. So, if the intent of the question was with regard to PowerPro electronics it could definitely be sourced solely in the US and with the low quantities involved costs would likely be comparable or could even be cheaper than sourcing from overseas...especially given the recent spate of tariffs from King Oompa Loompa. :(
