Rip Cutting Wide Boards with Angle

Post by Len »

OK, it's not really THAT wide, standard 1 x 12", and I want to put a 20* angle cut on both of the edges so that the top is 9 1/4" wide. I tilt the table to 20 degrees but my fence does not grab to hold. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Very frustrating.

Len, what do you mean by the fence will not hold? Is it because the table is too short? Here's what I do. Move the headstock all the way to the right of the machine, and use an extension table with tubes to form a longer table that will allow you to position the fence further away from the blade.

What's that, you say? There are too many trees in this place to find the forest.
I forgot that I had them! Came with the 520 table upgrade, so now I get a chance to really use them!
