I have knot bought wood on-line, but I found this place for "Maple Spalted"]this site[/URL] has listings for 5 different species of spalted wood. Just scroll down and look at the alphabetical list. To locate these, just took a couple of minutes with a google search, and I am sure there were more sites that I did knot look at.

PKNI,
Depends upon what size you're looking for. Rockler and PSI carry spalted maple pen blanks, but that's all. Did a quick search on EBay and there's 196 responses for Spalted Lumber right now. There's a number of blocks for bowl turning...

Thanks Tom and Tim. I tried to look for spalted wood on Google with little success. Woodworker's Source does have some @ $16.95 BF. They were the only ones that specifically listed "Spalted". I just went to their site on the off chance. They didn't show up on Google.
Found one pdf about creating spalt. At my age, I don't think I'll start down that path.
