Fine Woodworking & Shopsmith

Post by wdelliott »

A Shopsmith Mark V appears in a new video by Fine Woodworking (http://www.finewoodworking.com). In the Morris Chair Project by Gregory Paolini, towards the end of the segments, Mr. Paolini uses Shopsmith as a lathe to turn a couple of parts.

I suppose I was surprised since I do not see Shopsmiths that often in media.

The link is dead. This issue of Fine wood working was a nice surprise for me. The wife liked the butcher block coffee table and we are starting to plan for making one with matching sofa table and side tables. If you guys havent seen this month I thought it was one of there better months.

The link seems to have a problem but if you type in

www.finewoodworking.com in the address bar it will load or click on this link.

The problem with the link in the first post is that the closing parenthesis was included as part of the link.

The reason the link in the original posting does not work is because it was not typed correctly. It should not contain the ) at the end of the link.

I don't know but it sure does look that way. Now FFW would probably be very quick to point the fact that there is a 14 day free trial membership associated with this ad.

Have you ever signed up for one of those short term free trail deals. Getting off the mailing list took what seemed like forever. Now, my experience was not with someone as reputable as FWW but it still put me off of free trials.

Yes. You do have to have a subscription to the web magazine to view that particular video series.

SS and fine woodworking

Post by wdelliott »

Sorry everyone for my ineptness in citing to http://www.finewoodworking.com.

I have looked at the video without a subscription, but the SS portion is only brief, and probably not worth a great deal of trouble.

The use of it was nevertheless unique.
