Work table/Extension Table modification

WE have all wished for more table on our ShopSmith's (or at least I have).
I saw on billmayo's web site a table mod he had done to allow the work table to mount into the headrest or base. I liked the idea but I wanted somthing that would center up on the sanding disk or drill press better.

I felt bringing both legs in to keep the table centered would work better. By leaving the original tube mounts in place structural integrity would be less likely to be compromised (or at least that my story and I'm sticking to it:D ).

I wanted to retain the ability to align or tilt the table and the ability to move the legs back to the original location if needed.

This is what I came up with.

I still need to clean up the welds a bit and paint everything but I belive it turned out pretty good.

I will be using this on My 59 mini as a work table, or as an extension/support table on my 520 if needed.

I drilled out the pin, soaked everything down with WD40 and let it soak for a while. I clamped the tubes in a vice then I used an aluminum drift and a dead blow hammer to work the tube out of the supports. Take your time and work front and back. After cleaning the tubes up on the lathe they slid in the supports without sticking. It was just many years of being in one place that has them stuck in place.
Just take your time and work even front and back.
