My girl friend has been wanting a mantle around her fireplace. This is what I came up with in sketchup.

Tom, in your sketchup tutorial post, you asked if there was anything we would like a tutorial on. Well, I would like to see something on textures, applying them, resizing, scale. I figured out how to rotate, but trying to scale using the pins and handles is way over my head.

Just kidding. I have been playing with the colors and textures myself. I am continually amazed at the things we will someday be able to draw.
