Drawer storage ideas

I have found that these bins work great when incorporated into a drawer.

This is a couple of drawer or should I say pull out ideas that my Wife came up with. I was trying to figure out how to recycle the temporary SPT storage unit that I built a couple of months ago.

I added my own ideas and built these drawers with large drawer fronts attached as shown. Now I have no wasted space and when I need access to the items I just open the drawer and pull out the accessory shelf.

Is the drawer, in the last photo, put together with simple butt joints? If it is, what sort of glue do you use?

I am guessing the gray things with what appear to be red pads are clamps. Tell us about them please.

P.S. Really like those drawer slides. What are they?

Edge banding clamps for laminate?

Dusty the drawer fronts are rail and style construction just like the last lesson we did in Sketchup. I have a clamp table that I built for assembling. They are glued with Tightbond 11 and clamped in the clamp table. I then shoot 23 gauge pins through the tenons to hold them until the glue dries. I have some more to build and will post the procedure.

JPG40504 the clamps are Bessey edge clamps. They clamp in 3 directions for attaching trim to the edge of a board or plywood.

It is coming together but I still have to build 4 54 inch drawers for the center sections.





PS JPG I am using Accuride ball bearing side mount drawer slides for this project. About $8.00 per pair.

It is coming together but I still have to build 4 54 inch drawers for the center sections.

Is the entire back open!

There is a 6" screw strip at the top but the back is open for a couple of reasons. First I extended the electrical sockets by making pig tails to plug into the existing wall. This way all I have to do when I install the white wall board is unplug and remove a couple of screws and slide the cabinets out of the way. After all the drawers go in you would not see behind them anyway. The doors over the clamps are functional and give access for cleaning.
