Has anyone ever used lyptus on a lathe

I turned a pen out of Lyptus. I works ok with sharp tools but is not one of my favorites.

I've made stacked-ring bowls from lyptus. No problems gluing with Titebond II, splintered like crazy if you got a bad catch. I agree with the "sharp tools" comment. They bounce nice, though, no breaks yet.

Unlike my jatoba bowls, which broke the first time they were dropped. (Yes, this is why my wife does most of the dishes!)
