Saw a picture once of one done in white. With all the polished metal it was very sharp looking. Guess it depends on how much of a purist you are. Or if you got that out of your system with the Mark V then the rainbow is your playground.

Mike, I'm kind of partial to the OEM gray or the black myself. Out of curiosity (not being real familiar with the 10E and ER) what is the deal with the difference in pulleys on your unit and the bottom 2 photos you posted. Is that part of the 10E-10ER difference or was that an option?

The top two pix(gray/red) have the optional (extra cost) belt driven speed control. The bottom two(black/blue) are 'standard equipment(coned pulleys).

The speed control is a coveted 'feature' of any used 10e/r. They typically sell on EBay for over $100 depending on condition(over $150 is not uncommon).

Mike is currently(presumably) 'out to lunch' and will not be out of his all day meeting for another(almost) 4 hours so I don't think he minds if I answer your question more quickly!:D

I am partial to the Rustoleum Hammered Gray that Skip used (think you call it OEM gray). Whatever color you use, I am sure it will be real purdy. So purdy, that you will have to get another machine for woodworking.

I can open it in Inkscape but the font changes. From what I understand, the font has to be converted to "CURVES" and then it will not be effected by the PC which is substuting what it thinks is the closest match. Had my PC had that exact font, it would have opened without changing it. tom_k/mo - correct me if I am wrong.

Beautiful job on the artwork!! How long did it take you?

FWIW: My recollection of 'original' 10ER color is more of a bluish color. More dark blue than light gray. You might scrape that animal carefully and discover WHAT color it was at 'birth'. Lightly sand down a 'protected' area which may have some original paint under all that red. I imagine any original paint that was exposed to sun etc. will have faded out to a gray color. Meeting get out early?:D
