Another Pen Truning Book

Post by fjimp »

I am unfamliar with the book you mentioned. However I just finished reading the most comprehensive Pen Truning book I have found to date. Check out "Turning Pens and Pencils":) by Kip Christensen and Rex Burningham. I purchased it at woodturningz.com. Jim Parks

Forget the books, they are unnecessary. You can buy Hot Shot glue with your money instead. Pen parts are standard, only the wood is different. If you are planning on making oak pens, use white oak as it holds together on the lathe. You dont have to worry if your bore hole is not straight in the wood block, nor do you need to be concerned that your wood blocks are square. Just make sure the length is accurate.
