Then the next post is I don't like biscuits I like cupcakes. Then number three is biscuits are good for breakfast but not lunch. And post number four says biscuits are better than dowels. You can see how it took four post just to answer one question. Multilpy this by a couple different side trails then you forget what the original question was...
I heard that Javelinas prefer biscuits to cupcakes. By the way , does anyone have a good cupcake recipe?

Sorry - just wanted to break the tension.

I really enjoy this forum! Nice bunch of guys and gals. I enjoy all the threads regardless of where they ultimately lead. I do think that as you start a thread it will make a natural progression, and even though they sometimes stray off the original topic, I continue to learn, laugh and enjoy. I dont think that there is anyway to stop the natural progression of a conversation and as long as you don't bust in and try to sell me Amway, it is all good! Sure beats someone having to spend vast amounts of time policing the SS forum. I was on another forum that had a lot of rules and a lot of weenies calling out everyone for breaking some rule or another. As for being able to find an answer to a specific question, ask the question I'm sure you'll get an answer.

I absolutely 100% enjoy this forum just the way it is. Threads go haywire at times but I don't care in the least. If I am not interested in a post, I don't read it. If I have to skip over several posts to get back to the subject, I skip over them.

If it was my thread and I was concerned that someone was hijacking it or it was running way off track for too long a period of time, I would post my concern and I know that it would be respected and would stop.

The search problem......I am not so sure anything can be done with the search engine that forum has. It's very limited. Use google search engine. From google, type:

site:ShopSmith.net search criteria

If you can't find it, ask and someone will find it for you 99% of the time.

If I were to post a question, or discussion, and the thread were to be hijacked or bent toward another area I certainly would not be offended. I would just restate my idea in another manner and start a new thread. So what is the big deal. Besides I have found that even following spiraling threads I glean valuable information regarding the art of woodworking. Talking about woodworking, do any of you find that some of the thread that are posted apply to many forms of handy work besides woodworking. I have read a few threads related to CNC and even noted a thread on machine modification.....oh, am I wandering:D
No problem, just typing with friends.:)

I like it the way it has been for the last couple of years. We try to keep focused, but sometimes we wander is wondrous ways - sometimes with excellent results or ideas!

Confused? Only a little, but all of the time!
