Here are some pictures of non-standard Mark 5 color schemes I've gathered from my perusal of the interwebs.
I think this is close to the original "Goldie" colors, but off a bit.
This one is... interesting.
I like this black and silver combination.

Here are some mockups I did when planning my paint job. The verde green and Black looked good in my head. I'm glad I did the mockups because that scheme turned out not so great. There is also a variation on the black and and silver. Although I liked it, I decided against it.

Your OK now PC, you are now an official, fully fledged, 100% post forever ShopSmith forum member!!!!:D Thanks for updating. I google satellite viewed your area. Is that an auto race track off King Mpanda Street?
We'd love to have you update our member google map that shows where in the world we all live. You can find it out how in this thread. Check out the map. It's pretty cool. We only have a few members outside the continental US.
Have you shopped around to see what colors of hammered paint you are able to buy there? Some areas in the states are scant on Verde Green although it is still being produced. If you don't see what you want, ask them to special order. You may have to buy 6 cans (case) but you'll need around 4 anyway and you can have some for touchup.
Yesterday afternoon I checked out the hammered paints at one of the largest Hardwares within an hour drive, and found Hammerite brand paint. Their range is a bit limited, but I have asked them to order several colours for me in the smallest size available for testing. Gold, Copper, Bronze, Silver grey, Grey, Black, Light blue, Dark blue, Light green, and Dark green. I ignored the red because it is grotty, and the white because it's too bland.
Rustoleum is not available in S.A.
As for my location, our home net access is too intermittent for decent Google Earth access. I'll keep trying it, but I don't hold out much hope.
Speaking of colours - I've been promoted to a Silver Member woo-hoo:D . What is the qualification for each level?
I haven't seen Hammerite available here in the states, but based on online images, their Gold is a much better color than Rustoleum's Gold.

I sanded down one set of legs and sprayed them with the black Rustoleum hammer finish stuff and was really disappointed with it. It had neither the depth nor gloss of the other colors. I tried some experimenting with more coats etc. and finally sanded them down, reprimed and painted them another color. I think that set ended up being copper.
I guess it may have just been that one can. I shook it like a go-go dancer so I know it was well mixed.

On a side note... Last year I bought a paint shaker for regular cans of paint. I have not sat it up yet but I wonder if it could have an attachment (wood of course) to shake rattle cans.
This thing is out of an old hardware store and weighs a ton. It is a belt drive unit. It crossed my mind to adapt it to a SS drive but then I remembered how all of the paint mixing areas of most of those stores looked and I changed my mind...

I did not equip with Shopsmiths in spite of the setups but because of them.

Farmer, I've had the same results with the Rustoleum black hammered paint. It's more like a dark muddy brownish grayish color and not a deep black. A simple clear coat helped a lot in my case, but I still wish it was deeper and blacker.

On Heathicus' picture number two above I think that it would look really sharp like that if the pivot end and headrest were painted black...
