Help with loose dado blades on mark V - 500

Post by edward »

I could really use some help here. I think I'm missing something very obvious.

Wanted to put stacking dado blades on my shopsmith, but noticed that they were too loose for the arbor. Ordinarily there is a thin washer that sits between the blade and the arbor, but in this case I would need several of those thin washers to make all the dado blades fit snugly.

What am I missing? I know there's a dado arbor for SS...is this the problem that that arbor solves? If it's not, I'd prefer to make this arbor work for these blades. The nut is long enough on the arbor for all the blades.

Hi ed,
The dado arbor has a very thick permanent "washer". That's what you need.
