Do you have plans for your cart

Post by wingrider »

Is there any way I can get plans for the cart? I would like to build one for my shop. Yours is just what I'm looking for as I have a small shop and need all the room I can get.

The hardest part of designing special storage is that item/s that you haven't bought yet... :D

Sorry, no plans. I just sized it meet my needs and minimize waste from a 4x8 sheet of birch plywood. I included a few measurements in my original post.

If you have any questions though, I try to answer them.

I started out by measuring the space available to store all this stuff. Once I knew that I just had to make it happen. This is probably the only configuration that would have got it all in but then one is all you need.

Here are a couple of additional photos of the cart being assembled. Hopefully, they will provide further insight into how it was put together.

Thanks Art, The additional pictures are a big help on how it's put together. I should be able to build one for my shop and adjust it to the size I need. I have a band saw, joiner, belt sander, and planer to put on it and lots of small thing to go in the drawers. Thanks again for sharing this fine project.

You are my kind of guy. I love those square corner clamps that you have there. What I really love is the price. Why buy what you can make using pieces you find in the cut off box?

Another 'example' of a craftsman rather than a 'builder'. Adaptation and creativity are part of my definition.

If you can hang loose a couple days, I've gotten permission from Art to draw up a set of plans for his cart, and will have them available for the forum to use.

Thought I'd show the progress so far. Here's the SketchUp model so far, I've got most of the scenes with details and dimensions added. Still have to finish the details on the drawers and drawer installation. Pennview (Art) has been fantastic to work with.
