Mesquite, bois d' arc and more

Took some mesquite logs to a mill and had them canted so I could re saw them. They were all 48” long, or less.
Here’s what they look like.

After he canted then he gave me some 12/4 bois d' arc, Texas oak and cedar that he wanted to get rid of.

This is gonna make a few nice boxes.

That is some great looking lumber! That mesquite will give your saw blades a work out. What ever you build with that is going to be beautiful.

Found this on craigs list today posted and 6 x 6 x 8 foot seasoned wood for $11 each so went to look and found out it was black walnut and curly maple. Can hardly wait to see what it looks like when I get them resawed. Also found this guy thinks wood burls are just to throw away so going to pick up some burls Friday. Can hardly wait to make something with this. I think my daughter number 6 will get her new baby bed made from some of this. What do you think?

If you are close enough to me I can get you some of it and you pick it up in Broken Arrow If you like. I know he was Walnut and some curly maple left as of this afternoon.

I've already cut some mesquite and, you are correct. Bois d' arc is pretty hard on blades, too.
For those not familiar with such exotic woods;) bois d' arc is also called osage orange or, as we called it down on the farm, that *^&$% hedge. Hard, heavy and nearly impervious to rot.
