Severe Vibration

Post by kwhiz01 »

I have a 1986 Mark V Shop Smith which has never given me a moments worry. However, last week, it started making a loud, vibratory noise. I have doen all I can (belt tension, etc.) and it is still there. Do any of you have any idea of where I can send it for repair, or locate someone in my area (Houston, TX) who can repair it?:(

We just overhauled a headstock from a local school that had the same problem -- bearings were bad, sheaves were sticking. It had seen way too much sawdust and way too little lubrication. If you'd like top send it to us at the Shopsmith Factory Outlet in Dayton, Ohio, we'd be tickled pea-green to overhaul it for you.
