What size post?

Post by brunutt »

What size post does the stock ss lathe tool rest have? I'm at work right now so I can't measure mine and need to order some custom ones.

Thanks Bruce

1" is also available with the Universal Tool Rest Banjo. I have used both sizes.

Try Shopsmith first, if no luck there, Lee Valley Tools for one do carry posts, not sure they work with the SS toolrests though..............go here (hope this is helpful)

Hey Guys;
I thought that the tool rest post on the SS was 5/8". That is the small diameter post that is fixed to the bottom of the tool rest, the part that the lathe tool rests on when cutting. I just measured mine and it is 5/8". Please check before ordering!!

Hi,

Some old time reading:

This address the height issue too.
