Clone Accessories
I have an accessory for my Shopsmith that is the only one I have ever seen. A Central Machinery 6 inch Jointer. I bought it from Harbor Freight around 1985 for $98 delivered. I sold some toys I made at a flea market just before Christmas to get the money to buy it. It works great and has never given me one minutes trouble. However it's a heavy sucker. Right at 100lbs.

Has anyone else seen one of these?
I also have a belt sander that isn't a Shopsmith. It doesn't have the PTO and the table only mounts one way. Its a bit tricky to get the belt aligned when the belt is new. It works and with a 60 grit belt installed it will hog some wood off. The mitre gauge slot is a a different size and came with its own.

Yes, I have one and it is quite heavy. I need help just to move it. I believe the shipping costs would be very expensive. It is a Wood Master 6" joiner.

works great
I've got a Woodmaster 6" jointer, band saw, belt sander, power stands, and 5 in 1. Got them all from a guy in CA back about 2000. He had a whole storage unit filled with stuff. the jointer is heavy and I leave it in place on the 5 in 1 most of the time. I haave the band saw set up on the power stand.

Has anyone ever developed a larger bandsaw for the SS. I find the 6" height limit restrictive at times when I'm cutting blocks out of logs. Or is there a mod to the existing model that would allow for more room heightwise. Or do I just bit the bullet and purchase a larger stand alone bandsaw.

Considering that it has a cast aluminum base with ribbing, I think your last statement is most practical.
Orrrr you could stop playing with tree trunks!;)

Look in CL for decent bandsaws with greater resaw capacity.fredsheldon wrote:Has anyone ever developed a larger bandsaw for the SS.
