drive sleeve assembly stuck
I had the same problem...
First I applied some penetrating oil with a hypodermic needle around the drive sleeve assembly.
Then I used a heat gun on the headstock casting that holds the drive sleeve assembly...got it nice and hot.
Then pushed with the quill and out it came.
I'm just guessing, but I think the heat gun alone would have done it...

Are you talking about the set screw on a 10E/10ER drive sleeve? I don't believe there are any set screws holding the drive sleeve in a Mark V, just the retaining ring.mickyd wrote:Providing the set screw that holds it in was removed prior.Welcome to the forum.

No, I was talking about the quill. Got 'em mixed up. I'm getting rusty. Looks like I need to tackle restoration of 'pinky' to refresh my memory as to what the parts are called.SDSSmith wrote:Are you talking about the set screw on a 10E/10ER drive sleeve?
