I had to make an emergency repair to the roof of one barn and reconnect the cable/ground on a duplex line to that security light. Ladders and I are not especially good friends and in gusty 35+ MPH winds even less so. Not nearly enough hands.
We came out well. Just 4 to 6 miles south west of us a small cell had some smallish tornado activity. It took out a lot of trees for a strip about a quarter of a mile wide and maybe 5 miles long. It didn't just blow them over, it ripped many of them into shreds and scattered the pieces in every direction. We saw one badly damaged house that was crawling under a big blue tarp to lick its wounds...

I was in the "old new woodshop" and the "new new woodshop" both for a little while this afternoon and I was able to make several planning decisions which I wrote down. Does that count as "accomplishment"?
I was able to decide where I will be putting my bench and most of my hand tools as well as where all of the fasteners and finishes will go. Winter is coming and that shop (our former house) is really easy to heat and will be very nice to work in. It was built for electric heat and I will use that to maintain basic heat so that it will never freeze (still fully plumbed). I will put in a chimney (probably a stainless metal kit) and put in a small wood-stove.

Sounds like if we ever run out of things to do we can come to your house.

... I am waiting, though not patiently, for a detailed report on the new Power Pro. I am very disappointed and surprised that the new owners do not speak out more about their new experiences.
Maybe they all feel like that would be bragging and therefore not appropriate...

Imho that could well be a part of it.

Personally, one thing I can say fer sher: I do not regret the change one bit.

My observation of the response of those who have gotten a Power Pro is that they are quite happy that they got one. There have been a few problems, but the recipients have not expressed any total regret. Indeed most have been quite giddy in their expression of satisfaction.(you gotta realize this is a rather sedate collection of individuals, and their 'giddy' resembles some more energetic souls 'yeah I like it').

It be early for a comprehensive critique. Bits and pieces have been quite positive(especially those who have 'tested' ripping hardwood ability and those using the slower and higher speeds).

I have not posted much due to a very busy Football season. Dang kids won enough game to make the division playoffs and they just might extend the season again this week! looking forward to getting some shop time in!

Yep, I have coached High school ball for 28 seasons, and while this group has not won as many games as some, I have to say I have not had a group ever come as far as these kids have. I am proud of them and my asst. coaches. We started the year trying to make it through all the games and have some thing to build on for the future. Now they have extended the season and are looking to do it again. Pretty special season to be sure. We leave for the playoff game tomorrow.

We see complaints about companies all the time, but we rarely see praise. But I wanted to share some praise for a great company.

Several years ago we bought a bed cover for our truck (2007 F-150) from Extang. We bought the Trifecta cover. Installs super easy, can be easily removed and re-installed, and works great.

A couple years after we bought it, it started coming apart at one of the corners. The canvas was peeling away from the frame. We emailed Extang and sent them pictures of it to get their advice on how to fix it. They said they would just replace it. All we had to do was cut out a small area of the canvas (about 2"x4") where a number was stamped on the inside and mail it to them. We did that, and received an entirely new replacement cover very quickly.

A year later, the replacement cover is doing the same thing. And they are replacing it again. No questions asked. No runaround. No delays. No muss, no fuss. Just, send them the number stamped on the canvas, and they'll send a replacement. Simple as that.

I love a company that stands behind their product like this and does all they can to fix something that's wrong. And best of all, they are an American company and all of their products are Made In The USA.

I fell this way about Costco and L.L. Bean. I'll keep th flow positive and won't tell you who I feel the opposite about.
