Shopsmith Jointer

Post by bearcat2k »

Hi everyone,

I am looking to find instructions on removing a Shopsmith jointer from a power stand to install a dust port. Unfortunately, I can't find a manual on Shopsmith's website for doing this. They only have a manual for the multi-purpose "power station," and I don't think this is the same thing as the dedicated power stand for the jointer.

Does anyone know where I could find the manual and/or instructions for dismounting the jointer?

Thanks in advance!

The jointer attaches to the mounting base -- http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... ngbase.htm -- with two setscrews. Simply look for the two holes and use a 5/32 allen wrench to loosen the setscrews. Unless the belt is very loose, you should also loosen the motor mounts in order to remove the drive belt, rather than simply prying off the belt.
