Ed your idea about the scoll saw struck a familar cord., I just pulled out an article that was originally from Hands On Nov / Dec 1980. The article shows making bowls, goblets, plates, etc. from a single board by cutting out concentic circles and stacking them.

The article suggests drilling 1/8 pilot holes in each circle at an angle and using the SS jig saw (the Scoll saw probably wasn't around yet) with the table set to an angle.

I'd be glad to scan the article, but I'd probably be violating copy rights. Anyone know if these old Hands On Magazines are online anywhere.

Yep there it is on page 17!!!

If you go to page 20 you can see my OPR as it was in the beginning.

The maxi-clamp are on page 22... boy it has been years since I used those...

And on page 23 they have the 1/4" router bit adapter for the 1/2" shopsmith router chuck. I have one of those somewhere.

Yea that was a good issue.

It looks like I could play with this idea with out spending any extra money since I have the old jig saw. Might be slow but even at that it should take to much time as the finish from the cut will not matter much in the end so crank it up.

Thanks for finding this, I clearly remembered the concept but had no idea where it came from.

I still own the maxi-clamp and hadn't used them in years also but I am thinking with the Ring Master I will use them to glue up the rings.
