The problem is the sales tax and the shipping and handling. When I saw the price would go over $38.00, I figured I could live without it.

Shopsmith should consider sending the DVD's out using Media Mail at the Post Office. Takes a little longer but the shipping cost is really cheap.

Just finished watching the Shopsmith Journals on Maintenance & Alignment by Rick Davis and have to take my hat off to Rick. It is an outstanding DVD and even though I have attended the TA's many times, There were things that I either missed or were not discussed. The closeups were excellent as well as the picture quality and audio. I am quite pleased with it and will be looking forward to what is next. I got around the high shipping cost that I originally balked at by combining it with a couple of other items I needed.

That is good to hear! I definitely am going to buy it too:D , I am just waiting for the need and funds for another order. I will not be buying it by itself due to the high cost of shipping:mad: . I really liked the TA classes that Rick taught and I am looking forward to this DVD.

Has there been any movement to lower the shipping cost for this DVD yet?

I too recently purchased the Rick Davis DVD and think it should be a standard item for every new shopsmith sold and for everyone who owns a shopsmith. Rick Davis is an excellent instructor as anyone who as attended the TAs can attest. The other thing we can appreciate is he has made a living as a woodworker for many years and hence, imparts practical knowledge and insight as well. The one thing I especially appreciate about this DVD is the close-up quality of what is being demonstrated. [If I have one criticism of the Sawdust sessions produced by Nick and Drew, it is that sometimes I need to see what is being demonstrated more up close to fully appreciate and learn what is being taught.] I look forward to future editions of The Shopsmith Journals.

I know I am resurrecting a very old thread - but I noticed that there is only one "Rick Davis" DVD...I am assuming that none of the other planned ones made it into production.

If anyone has a copy of the dvd that they were willing to lend out I would greatly appreciate it =)
