I had never thought of that with regards to pallets before. Below is an article talking some more about the dangers of pallets that have been treated with chemicals.

Pallets:not so good anymore!

Post by jimsjinx »

I am a ret. fireman/paramedic. I want to pass on that, in my many pallet fires I responded to, the smoke and dust from these things is downright dangerous. I used to use old pallet wood for stuff, but after the DOT training telling us how much stuff is used to treat these things, I am scared to use them for anything other than what they were made for. Arsenic, cyanide, ethilene glycol, formalihyde, and about 6 different pesticides, are used in the making of some pallets. I know the oak ones are tempting to use for projects, but it just isn't worth it! jimsjinx
If you are a part time band leader, does that make you a semi-conductor? Where do all the "unguided" bombs go?
