Spiders in my Mequite.

Neat grain pattern. Yes, it will make for great discussion.

Question about your mesquite: Does the resulting sawdust look and feel more like metal dust than saw dust. I tried to work with some of the mesquite I have and it did a job on one bandsaw blades and created some very unusual sawdust.

It was not part of the plan but I now have one bandsaw blade dedicated to mesquite.

Yep, it's pretty grainy, like granola or sand.
My blade is a 1/2" 4 TPI, Bi-metal blade from Suffolk Machinery. So far, It's cut a yield of about 50 bf of Mesquite. Still going strong! And, It too, is dedicated to Mesquite.

My jointer is a 40 year old Craftsman 6" and nothing has ever bogged it down before. Mesquite does, though.

Those are metal filings left over from yer metal cutting that the mesquite shook loose!:D

Awesome indeed(not to mention VERY unique). Glad YOU discovered it so as to create something also unique from it!
