Ok, here is what I have so far.

I listed what the items are in the picture. These I believe are from 1979 when my grandfather bought the shop smith. The guards are metal, both upper and lower. I have a table carriage and the table with the drill press insert. I also have the 500 fence. and the lower part of the 500 lathe tool rest.

Ron, can I ask what project you have in mind? Another forum member wants the table to upgrade his machine, and I am tempted to let him use it to upgrade and better his saw.

Gat, if you think the lower guard is what you need, PM me your address. Do you need the upper guard as well?

My friend is looking for the plastic see thru variety. BTW, I think it is nice of you to offer these items to forum members.
You be right 'bout that. My 500s guard is metal top and bottom.
And you're also right about spiderclimber being a great forum member.

The old gaurds are indeed metal top and bottom. I don't know when they changed to plastic tops but I've been looking for one and I am finding them hard to find.

I could definitely use both the upper and lower guards as my shopsmith currently does not have either one. I am more than willing to pay shipping costs. This is assuming no one else has claimed them yet. Please PM me.

Thanks!

I have extra upper and lower blade guards that I got with my #3 Mark V and would be happy to spread the wealth to you. If you could pickup the shipping costs I would box them up and send them along to you. Be advised these are the older metal guards and don't work especially well in my opinion but I would be happy to give them to you if you want them. Let me know if you are interested and we can exchange info and get them shipped off to you.

I was going to use it as a base for a drum sander, but send it off to whomever. I can wait.

I would be interested in the table carriage. I would like to add a second carriage to one of my 500 so I can put my extra table on the left side of the headstock. I live in the 60145 area code. It's Great that you are offering these thing to board members for the cost of shipping.

Hello All,

Ok, I went through the posts and tried to figure out who wanted what and who needed what. Here is what I gathered.

Gat_76 said he needed the lower guard and Wannabewoodworker offered to send him his set. So the two of you PM each other and make that happen.

Pessen then said he wanted the upper and lower guards so I will send them to him, as long as he PMs me with his address so I can mail it off.

Ron asked for the table for a drum sander project and underdog asked for it to retro fit his 10er. I am waiting to hear back from underdog to see if he needs the carriage it fits into and the fence.

Maybe a forum member with a 10er can answer that sooner as to whether a carriage for the 500 will fit the 10er.

If it doesn't fit then I am going to send off the carriage to wingrider.

If Underdog doesn't need the fence, JPG will get that unless someone has a need for it more than he does and he steps away from his offer to take it.

That is it for now. I will keep you all updated.

Ok, two other pieces to add. Does anyone need the tailstock piece that you use for the lathe? How about a full lathe rest from the 510? I have both of those extra now too as I have the 520 set and don't need two sets.

Let me know.
