Need Help with Bandsaw Eccentric Tubes

Post by shealyl »

I just bought some new eccentric tubes and mounted them on my bandsaw, which has the standard bandsaw fence. When I lift the way tubes to go to upright drilling, the way tubes they do not clear the rail that my band saw fence rides on. I f I remove the bandsaw fence rail the way tubes will clear the bandsaw table no problem. I thought the eccentric tubes were suppose to make the way tubes clear the bandsaw even if you have a bandsaw fence. Am I screwed up here?

These the ones? They be the correct ones. Are you mounting them with the bandsaw off set away from the headstock?

FWIW they tend to be a bit 'springy'.

I have the Kreg bandsaw fence and if the fence is positioned all the way to the left, when I lift the way tubes, they will contact the fence. They will pass, but they clip the fence. If I position the fence slightly towards the center of the table, the end of the way tubes pass without touching the fence.

Perhaps this might help unless as suggested, the eccentric tubes are improperly installed.

Good Luck.
