When I got mine it only had one tapped completly though and that is buy SS infinite wisdom. The way they make them. I thought it was a defective part, so I finished tapping all three. I like it a lot better.

Why?

Prior to drilling the other two holes, did the handle come off or spin freely on the shaft?

I would not care for it with all three handles locking. I take it off and put it back on too frequently. Needing to loosen all three handles would be maddening. I am not Grasshopper. I am not a patient person.

I didn't like it mainly because the two non threaded though had more thread showing and it just wasn't like it should be in my opion. It locks down more securly now that all three lock in. It does not bother me to take an extra 5sec to loosen the other two handles.
