I also remember the western Nebraska store. My favorite part o driving between Denver and Virginia has been our stops at the store west of Kansas City. One of my last visits was too replace a piece of luggage purchased there that the airlines ruined. When I pointed out the bag that was ruined the clerk asked how long I owned it (6 years) how often was it used (one week per year for Alaska trip), his response that's too little use bring it in and we will replace it for free. Now that is my kind of store. Jim
That is my kind too! Nice going Cabelas!!!!!!!!!!

Local boat shop and tackle shop owners are screaming foul, they claim they didn't get any concessions, so why should Bass Pro.

They have a point. However Bass Pro hires hundreds and surveys have proven that Bass Pro are actually tourist draws to an area.

Dad will bring the kids to Busch Gardens if they allow him a quick trip to Bass Pro.

I sure would like a Bass Pro closer than the 90 miles to Orlando we now have.
We had the same thing here in Wichita. Wichita would not give Bass Pro all they wanted so Bass Pro did not come here, instead they brought in Gander Mountain. Everyone wanted Bass Pro for the tourism. The Cabela's is not as big as the one in Kansas City Kansas, but at least we have one now.
