I am sorry but I disagree. I believe that for the sake of effective inventory cost control Shopsmith should eliminate from their offerings those items that we can easily purchase from a different source.

What I mean are those items that are not Shopsmith specific. For example, I can purchase a TruTrac or a reasonable substitute elsewhere. This is the type item that I don't believe Shopsmith should mess with.

The Incra V120 can also be purchased elsewhere but I feel this is the sort of item that is reasonable for Shopsmith to market. I can also buy V120 that is not compatible to the Shopsmith table but it would not come from Shopsmith.

I would rather see the email special include items like wedge locks, "complete sets" of set screws, bearings sets for a specific maintenance task like rebuilding the quill or the main shaft, a quill spring and housing assembly, a quadrant for the jointer, etc. This would help us counter the fact that many of our machines are getting older and are in need of TLC while at the same time increase cash flow to Shopsmith and simultaneously improve inventory turn over.

Just a thought fostered by my years of experience in Engineering and Production Testing.

The other area shopsmith could take advantage of are upgrades like the pulley kit for the planer that gives improve speeds and better cuts. I would like to see a Helical cutter head/blades for the planer and joiner.

The upgrade for the bandsaw tires is great. It improve the performance. The ceramic cool blocks would be nice, but they may not be able to compete in price.

The Sand flee is a great new tool. I already owned one by the time shopsmith decided to team up with them.

Carolina HV-12 band saw manual is hard to find. I see many reviews about it but not the manual. Good thing, I found your message MagGeorge. I downloaded for free, its manual from http://www.bandsawmanuals.com. Such a relief to find a site I have been looking for.
