Re Motor won"t run...

I have also been through all the suggested things to check and finally took the belt cover off my 510 and tapped on the motor shaft with a rubber mallet. What do you know? The darn thing started right up. I think it was something in the centrifugal switch that freed up. I hope this helps everyone else that has the same problem and this is a easy solution.

A 'temporary fix'? Perhaps.
A 'solution'? No.
Although a piece of crud holding the contacts open
may have been knocked loose by the tapping, it is also possible it freed up a stuck sliding switch actuator for the time being.
If the problem returns, I recommend motor disassembly and cleanout.

You are probably correct in your assumption. This is the second time that it has happened and only when I set it up as a drill press. It was a quick fix for now. Maybe.

It is likely that there is a buildup of sawdust in the motor that falls down towards the start switch/mechanism when tilted to vertical.
