Well, since I don't have a Droid....and don't want one.....
I've got a couple of favorite sites for wood ID and info.
My favorite is Wood Workers Source and their Wood Library link.
There is also a wealth of information available if you click on "Resources", and mouse over to the selections under "Learn" from their main banner.

I could not afford to live in Dusty's part of the world.....too close to Woodworkers Source.......

Another wood info link I use a lot is Wood Species from Woodworking Magazine.

Scary, considering that Woodworker's Source is less than 2 miles from my home. Great group of guys over there...I like going there a lot. In the back, they usually have some interesting things. Right now, they have some curly burly walnut cutoffs that make a gorgeous pen...
