Don't think I've EVER seen a 747 do a loop. Saw a 707 do a barrel roll, though. Tex Johnson did one, in a demo flight of the first 707. A barrel roll is a 1 G maneouver. A loop ISN'T.

O.K. Steve, My terminology was lacking. The 747 came in low from the West passed by the airport, turned left and looked like it was going to land as it passed by from the East to the West.
Octogenarian's have an earned right to be a curmudgeon.

The outer belt making a big circle around downtown Houston is called the 610 LOOP. So he's right in that sense.

I hope they get the next generation of spacecraft ready. It was before my time, but the Saturn V rocket was one amazing piece of equipment. True American ingenuity.
