"A" headstock = sand casting = no access hole = no oil holes in sheaves.

"B" headstock = die casting = access hole = oil holes in sheaves.

"A" headstock = early greenies.

"B" headstock = later greenies, goldies, gray versions up until the "C" headstock.

Ah. I see. I am learning quite a bit today. Thank you all!

I am glad that I am not having to try to do repairs already. And I am going to be able to do some more work to learn more about it.
