Mark VII Jointer Mounts

I had the same problem with misalignment of my belt sander and needed the offset tubes. So I just marked the center of the clear space between the Shopsmith mounting frame and the bottom of the belt sander and cut the tubes off there in my lathe and surfaced the cut square on each piece. Then took a small piece of 1/4" thick steel plate, offset the tube pieces about 3/8" and welded them back together. Cleaned them up and they have been in alignment ever since! Cost=3 welding rods and a couple of hours.
