OK, so this is just a teaser and thread bump. I have about 30 (yep, at least 30) things I'm trying to knock out of the shop in the next 14 days. Some are actually coming together (meaning it's time to apply finishes) and some are still in the woodpile. So, here's how the finishing table looked tonight.

I promise much better pictures and completed projects soon!!
Starting to finish

Finally some of the projects are starting to be done. The list is long. Hopefully this weekend will be very productive, but I wanted to share a few things that I've actually managed to complete so far:
For my youngest grandson and great-nephew: pull-toy grasshoppers (oak):

For my oldest daughter, an hors d'ouerves set from PSI in cherry, blanks were cut with both heartwood and sapwood and casing was made from same board with plywood bottom and oak supports:

For the older grandsons and great-nephew: trailer and cars are painted white wood, tractors are cherry and walnut:

So.... what's in your shop??

Two things I really admire; scrollwork and carving. Primarily because I suck at both!!
Very nice. Where's mine??

I was hoping to see more projects posted this far into December.
It was all scroll work for me this year.

Yes indeed, that is very nice scroll work, Dave.
Where did you get the patterns for those items?

Man, I am humbled by the stuff you guys are making - excellent work all the way around. I'm in the middle of restoring my 500 and we're also in escrow on a new house (with a huge detached workshop for me

), so my woodworking life is in shambles at the moment but hopefully next year...
