I can't figure why there's any negative reviews about this tablet. Perhaps it's because you need WI-FI to use internet, perhaps because Apple people don't like competition, perhaps because the pricing is extremely fair and not bloated as an Apple product is or perhaps because some people just don't like Amazon.com.

Any other questions, I would be happy to answer them for you if I can. So, don't hesitate to ask.

There must be some issues after your purchase. I went to a few retailers and did a demo and no one could get the Kindle Fire HD to play Youtube videos. Amazon says you must watch Youtube videos in Mobile View but still does not work.
Very disappointed. Looks like The Google Nexus 7 is in my future.

I am leaning towards the Google Nexus 7. Like you said talking to it and it talking back is pretty cool.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9

My Kindle Fire HD 8.9 (32G) was shipped on Thursday the 15th ( five days ahead of the projected date) and I received it the next day. Immediately upon turning it on my Amazon books appeared. I have had no trouble accessing UTube and a movie I downloaded for free (you get one month of Prime access) viewed flawlessly. Although my notebook and Kindle both access my WiFi the "Silk" browser on the Kindle appears to be faster than FireFox on the notebook (Win 7 Ultimate, core i5). I downloaded a few albums from my computer to the Kindle and they sound great.

I have only had a weekends' worth of playing with my new toy, but so far, I find it all that Amazon pitches it to be.
