Thanks for that information. I know I've seen some videos on squaring lumber on the jointer then planer but this really explains it even further.
3 hours of fighting that darn board later...it's square. Ended up using my hand plane to get that last 1/16 that for some reason was really a bugger. The oak I was using was 1.5 inches thick and really challenged me. I've never worked with that thick a piece of lumber and what a learning experience!!
