Welcome aboard. I got my SS in 1982 and I'm still excited with I go to the shop to work on a new project. It's why I go there most days.

Am I correct that the live center (item "C" in the top photo I posted above) is in your tailstock? I looks that way from the photo you posted but it's hard to tell for sure.

I'm not sure. I'll go look this morning and take some pictures.

Here's what I have. I cleaned it up a little with a wire wheel on the bench grinder. Before and after shots.

That's the cup center (item#B in above photo) - live center is nice to have but the cup center serves the same purpose and is certainly enough to get you going with some spindle turning. Now, just dig around and see if you can find the drive center (Item#A). If not, both the drive center and live center can be bought from SS and are also seen fairly regularly on E-Bay.
You might as well post a picture of the rest of the stuff you got and let us dig through your box and see what else ya got

I picked up a live center on sale at Rockler yesterday for $20. Here it is installed. I also took off the sanding disk and put the tool rest on. The drive center is missing.

How hard is it to find these bolts? I'm missing one.
